Click here for a full-sized screenshot of WebSnatcher IE. Refer to the graphic to the left. Here a typical view of WebSnatcher IE. After you start WebSnatcher IE, you'll see it's window integrate itself into Internet Explorer on the left hand side. The browser resizes to accommodate WebSnatcher IE.You can select items to download simply by clicking on the row you're interested in. Hold down <ctrl> to add individual items to your current selection. Hold down <shift> to select a range of items. You can access WebSnatcher IE's functionality by using the right-click context menu (which is raised by right-clicking on an item in the grid) or the toolbar, which is available at the bottom of the WebSnatcher IE window. Between the toolbar and the main window is a status pane which will report information to you regarding what you've clicked on and your downloading status. Here, the status pane reads "Downloading files...". In the graphic, WebSnatcher IE is displaying all the links and graphics on the current page, which consists almost entirely of jpeg images. The files are displayed in three columns. You can see 1) the name of the file and it's title, if available, 2) the type of document, and 3) the size of the file, if available. Clicking on any of the headers will sort the grid in terms of the header. For example, clicking on "Size" will sort the items in ascending order of file size. Clicking again will sort the items in descending order and so on. This graphic shows WebSnatcher IE in the middle of a download (that's also why the "Download" buttons are temporarily disabled). A red down arrow graphic overlaid on the web item icon indicates that the file is marked to be downloaded. The blue spheres indicate that the file is currently downloading...they'll bounce from the left side of the "Web Page Item" cell to the right to indicate how much of the file has downloaded. It's kinda fun to watch! The strikethru indicates that a file has downloaded sucessfully. For a typical workflow example, click here. |
