WebSnatcher IE Context Menu

Main Menu Items

  • "Download file(s)" will download the currently selected file(s) to the download folder.
  • "Download file(s) to target folder" will first raise a dialog prompting you for a new folder name.  When you click "OK", WebSnatcher will create a new folder with the name you supplied underneath the Download Folder and then download all files the new folder. 
  • "Query File Size" will attempt to determine the size of the selected files.
  • "Navigates" instructs Internet Explorer to load this file into the main browser window.
  • "Error status..." will be enabled if the selected item has failed to download.  You can choose this menu item to determine why a download failed.
  • Current document example:  "Welcome to Microsoft's Homepage" - This text is dynamic, the title of the current document (which in this case is Microsoft's homepage) appears here.  See the second menu graphic for more information on the sub-menu.
  • "Select" popup menu.  Use this menu to select various items.  See the last menu graphic for more information on the sub-menu.
  • "Deselect All" deselects all items for the current document.
  • "Options" displays the Options Dialog.
  • "Set Download Folder" displays a dialog where you can change your download folder.
  • "Explore Download Folder" will open your download folder in Windows Explorer.
  • "WebSnatcher IE Homepage" will take you directly to the WebSnatcher IE homepage.
  • "About WebSnatcher IE" displays the application "About" box.
  • "Close" will close the WebSnatcher IE window.

Current Document Sub-Menu 

This menu is based on current document title and applies only to the current document displayed in Internet Explorer browser.
  • "View Source" will display the source for the current document in Internet Explorer in Notepad.  This option will override any attempt to hide the source from the user.
  • "Email Addresses" will use Notepad to display all "mailto:" tagged e-mail addresses in the current document.  In this case, the menu item is disabled, meaning there are no e-mail addresses in the document.
  • "Scripts" pops up a dynamic menu with an item for each script that appears in the current document.  In this case, Microsoft's site is using seven different scripts.  Selecting any will pop up the script in Notepad.  Great for purloining scripts for your site!

Select Sub-Menu

  • "All" selects all items in the list
  • In this case (left), the user clicked on an image so the text "Image Files" appears.  If you were to click on an html file the text "Web Document Files" would appear, etc.  In any case, WebSnatcher IE will select any item that fits this description.
  • Also in this case, the user clicked on a "gif" file so the text "All .gif Files" appears.  WebSnatcher IE will select all .gif files in this case, or all files of whatever type you clicked on.
