Multi-level Download Dialog |
![]() |
You access this dialog by right-clicking
on a web document or ftp folder in the web tree control and choosing "Download
<file>...". This dialog allows you to archive entire websites or to ferret out every file available on a website of a given type or category. There are 3 steps in completing this dialog: First, in the "Download" section, you tell WebSnatcher how much to download, whether to generate subfolder, and reindex the hyperlinks. Choosing "Entire site" is recommended because, unless you're absolutely certain of the structure of a website, you will probably miss some files. Selecting "Entire site" will only allow downloading within the current domain. If this restriction were not in place, WebSnatcher could run wild on the Internet, downloading indefinitely. Second, in "File Filters", setup a download filter if you wish. If you want to archive a website, you will not want to use a filter. If, for example, you want to download every image in a website, you'll use the filters to set this up. Click the "Filter Options..." button to customize the filter. Third, in "File Size Restrictions", you can tell WebSnatcher to skip files larger than a given size (in megabytes) or smaller than a given size (in kilobytes). Then, press "Start". WebSnatcher will begin the download and update the web tree as files are downloaded. |
